2020 Goals for the Year

As you know, I have been breaking my hiatus in order to bring you my goals for 2020. Along with sharing my goals, I will be posting my book list for year as well.

Master Budget Planning & Consistently Follow the Plan

I am desperately trying to get my spending under control, save some money, and pay down my debt. I am hoping that following Dave Ramsey to the nth power will help with paying off my debt.

Books:
Complete Guide to Money by Dave Ramsey
Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey

Action Plan:
Budget by Paychecks
Use Monarch Money to budget and keep track of finances

Radically Change My View and Care of Myself

I need to take better care of myself, and stop being so hard with me. I give everyone else a lot of grace, but that grace is severely lacking when it comes to myself. I am aiming to change that this year.

Books:
Sacred Rest by Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith
Margin by Richard Swenson
The Craving Cure by Julia Ross

Action:
Allow myself Grace
Schedule personal time
Keep up with my enjoyable activities such as running, and yoga.
Delete Gluten from my life and eat Mediterrean.

Develop and Maintain a Lasting and Realistic Relationship with Christ

My relationship with Christ has been lacking and weak. I wish to have a stronger relationship, and to lean into Him more often.

Books
How to Pray – C.S. Lewis
The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren
Women of the Word by Jen Wilkin
Writing in the Margins – Lisa Nichols Hickman

Action Plan
Prayers in the morning and evening. Prayer at all times.
Attend Church weekly and midweek

Apply for the Masters in Psychology Program

I will be 35 years old next year, and it is time that I finish my master’s program. But sadly, I need to take the GRE and get that over with.

Books
Getting in: A Step-By-Step Plan For Gaining Admission to Graduate School in Psychology by American Psychological Association
A Short Guide to Writing About Psychology by Dana S. Dunn
How to Think Straight About Psychology by Keith E. Stanovich

Action Plan
Study Plan for the GRE using Magoosh GRE
Write the Personal Statement
Get accepted

Now if I can manage to read 12 Week Year by the end of January, I can use that implement my 2020 goals.
